Amy is an Accredited Practicing Dietitian, having completed her studies at Curtin University in Perth. Amy is passionate in her work primarily helping people who have diabetes (Type 1 and 2), among other nutrition related conditions. As a dietitian, her goal is to inspire you and guide you to live a healthier and happier life. She will work closely with you to create specific and individualised health related goals and plan with you the steps to achieve your goals.
Amy moved to the Pilbara only 12 months ago but already feels like a local. She recently purchased her first home in Karratha, and a boat. On her weekends she enjoys camping, stand up paddle boarding and hiking.
I am an accredited pharmacist and completed my post graduate certificate in Diabetes Education and Management at the University of Technology Sydney in 2017. I have previously completed a post graduate diploma in Clinical Pharmacy and Resources Management at the University of Manchester before moving to Australia.
I have lived in Karratha since January 2017 and worked in community pharmacies and the Aboriginal Medical Centre since moving to the area.
I have practised pharmacy in both hospital and community settings in both Australia and the United Kingdom have a special interest in health promotion and disease prevention.
ICDC Care Co-Ordinator
Kess is our great care co-ordinator. She is a nurse who supports our intake process and active care co-ordination of clients registered under the ICDC program. Kess has extensive chronic disease experience and is an asset to our team. She assists the multidisciplinary ICDC team and attends to clients on outreach trips across the Pilbara. Kess relocated to Karratha from the East Coast in 2020 and is embracing the red dirt life.
Lara is the Principal Podiatrist, who has over 18 years’ experience working in private practice having completed her Podiatry degree at Curtin University in 2001. Lara is based in Geraldton and provides visiting services and support to the Podiatry team in Karratha. Lara has an interest in diagnosing, treating and managing chronic pain and sporting injuries. She has gained experience in dry needling and joint mobilisation therapy to compliment her knowledge of biomechanics, rehabilitation programs and orthotic therapy to treat disorders of the feet.
Suzanne qualified as a Podiatrist in 2002 in the UK, with a Diploma in Podiatry. She moved to Australia with her husband and has obtained a degree in Podiatric Medicine. Suzanne has been committed to providing Podiatry services to the residents of Karratha for the past nine years. Suzanne enjoys all aspects of Podiatry and has particular interest working with the elderly and chronic disease. Suzanne is well regarded for her kind and compassionate nature. She enjoys living and raising her family in Karratha.
Alison graduated from the University of Western Australia with a Doctor of Podiatric Medicine and a Bachelor of Science (Genetics). Alison has a strong interest in diabetic foot care, wound prevention & management and community health. Alison is committed to providing evidence based podiatric care and finding the most appropriate treatment plan for each individual.
